Advice to all: Buy actual box. It saves you the trouble of the downloads in between maps.

Also, you will have proof that you own it, and do not have to worry about being scammed. If you do not get a key in your package you can return it.

Well... downloads are not a problem I have with my fast Cable connection. Second, playNC.com keeps track of all of your purchased game codes... so if you lose the boxed version, or the number smudges off of the CD case, what are you going to do then?

Buy on-line if you have the bandwidth. Seriously.

Maybe lack of credit card?

Don't forget there are two versions of the game this one solely for PvP.

You might want to do a little more reading about the game before posting something so blatantly wrong. There is no "solely for pvp" version of the game.

After all this effort on Gaile's part to set the record straight, here comes Best Buy stirring up the controversy again with a blatently confusing statement:

-Expansion pack requires the full version of Guild Wars to play

Love their prices, hate their research staff. Guess what 50% of the questions to gaile are gonna be next LA PR meeting..... yet again....

People get confused..
More than 1 meaning of "faction" ...
Faction: Use it to unlock mods, skills, etc for PvP Char..
Faction: "a party or group (as within a government) that is often contentious or self-seeking" (m-w.com) Yay for cites..
^ Refers to the two groups you can join in the PvE(?) aspect of the game..
No two versions of the game.

Yeah, I'm waiting until I know what's in both..

i just want to know how many slots i will get to add to my account cause i dont wanna pay the same price as somone who only has factions to get 2 extra slots when they get 4

and dont say we get the added benifet of going to either area with all our charactors so we sacrafice a few slots

cause i paid my money for 4 slots with guild wars and then im paying the same money i expect the same slots for factions

basically until they explain how the slots for charactors are going to be im not ordering anything

"Expansion pack requires the full version of Guild Wars to play"

"Slay more than 300 new monsters"

Yep. This is a pre order to keep an eye on. Love their attention to details.

That's what happens when you do the PR shuffle and not properly disclose information to retailers.

I'm not preordering untill ALL of the details to Factions have been laid on the table and not get the PR shuffle when I ask a question.

WARNING WARNING WARNING!!!!! This Vendor is a VERY VERY BAD SOURCE...

EBGAMES had a preorder item so they drew in many orders for the game.

In my case they not only did not send me my game till almost 4 weeks after the release(even though I had it preordered for almost a year in advance), but They sold my billing information to a 3rd party that used that information to bill my credit card for fraudulent subscriptions to something called reservations rewards or something like that... Took me 5 months dealing with the bank and FBI for fraudulent charges, and finally having to change my CC account to get it corrected... I will never do business on EBGames site again...

In my case I missed the fine print option to opt-out of a subscription to this thing, that was default to accept at purchase... however it appeared NOWHERE on my billing statement... It just magically showed up on my CC right after the purchase of the preorder. But they used that as legal means to bill me for almost 3 months worth of $9.00 for this service, and it took a LONG time to get it off my record and get my money back.

Just letting the community know. EBGAMES is not to be trusted at all. I had forwarded the police report to arenanet as they wanted to kept apprised of the problem cause they got many such complaints from this vendor. Hardly worth the trouble for the Preorder bow if you ask me...

Just watch your cc statement real close and report it to your bank ASAP if they hit you for it again... I really should have posted this a long time ago in public... but I didnt think of it till i saw that post about EBgames again..

i AlWAYS pre-order any game in a store and get a box for it. why? because online vendors are ALL scammers. just look at what ea games and fileplanet are doing with the bfme2 pre-order. you pre-order and get guaranteed beta access from ea games. then fileplanet says no you cant download the file without paying us. ok wait ea might sue us... oh you can download the file but we wont give you the password to install it unless you pay us.
